Overnight Festival – Heart and SOULstice

Let me start by saying, this was the best most amazing experience of my life! This was my first overnight festival and afterwards I literally questioned how I had been missing this experience previously in my life!

Heart & SOULStice

We went to Heart & SOULstice, an overnight festival including: music, art, fire throwing, an art car, sharing and gifting, awesome workshops, and amazing people. I thought I had an idea of what to expect at this event, but it really was a deeper experience than just an overnight festival. It was both fulfilling and liberating on a soul level; hence the name. There are several festivals of this sort around if you wish to experience this type of event.

Everyone at the event was nice and really genuinely interested in chatting and getting to know one another. Whether it was sharing in general, sharing their talents, and their knowledge, everyone was out to have a great time and meet some awesome people with the same interests.  This year the event was really well put together!

I am a seasoned camper, but this camping experience was really a new thing for me. The festival took place on an open range field in between the mountains.  It took place this year at the Blue Mountain Event Center in Wilseyville, California. Everyone camped in a sectioned area, they set-up tents or RVs literally along-side one another.

After camp was set-up is when the fun began. This event was family friendly and included tons of workshops, games, bonfires, crafts, art, and vendors. They even had a section and workshops to make sure the children had just as great of a time.

The music – the DJs were awesome and music was playing all weekend, maybe stopping only a couple of hours during the duration of the event. I really like that there was a variation in music.

Another pretty neat thing about the event was ‘Betty’s Boutique’ this boutique was run by a very nice lady and through donations. People would donate if they could, and regardless would have the opportunity to pick out some new outfits to wear at events such as this festival.

At night is when the magic came out. There was a light up art car pictured below at the event. The gentleman would give people rides around the festival.

In the background you could see the stage lit up and the fire magic about to begin just as soon as the sky was dark enough.

You can view video footage of the fire throwing on our Instagram page.

The place that the festival rented the portable toilets did a great job at keeping them maintained during the duration of the festival, so that was nice. Below is a friendly reminder to take care of the porta potties.

As far as the experience at this event, or any of the similar events that they have around, one can only truly understand how amazing this festival is by experiencing it for themselves. To be honest, it can be hard to fully explain the impact the festival like this can have on a person. There is something about getting out, and not having to worry about too much, surrounded by awesome, and amazing people. That liberates and refreshes a being and their soul. It is now that I truly understand and appreciate these types of events and fully understand why they are such a big thing to so many people. People literally travel for these things.
