What is Burning Man?
Burning Man is a once a year festival that takes place every year as people gather in the Nevada Desert City, known as Black Rock. The event is a man-built city that is dedicated to the community of those whom travel from all over the world to the festival every year. The event is known for art, and self-expression.
What is there to do at Burning Man?
There are so many different ways to experience your time here at Burning Man. You can visit various themed camps, watch performances, and go to camp parties. You can get away from the city onto what is called, The Playa, to experience amazing man-build structures, appreciate the art pieces, and experience the dust storms. When the sun goes down, things only get more exciting! Being out on the Playa at night with all the lights, art cars, music, and fire blowing is an unbelievable and liberating experience.
Volunteering
At Burning Man there are also many different ways to volunteer to help support the event. Ever heard of the Lamplighters? If so, or if you haven’t they are always looking for volunteers to help light the city at night.
The Burning Man Experience
From stories that I’ve heard to my own experience, the only way to truly understand Burning Man is to experience the event for yourself. Pictures, video footage, and even words do not do the experience justice. Check out our video and gallery footage from our trip to Burning Man, 2016, https://youtu.be/NvIBl-Z7cR0.
